More than Venice. More than Amsterdam. Pittsburgh's 446 bridges are not a fun fact — they're the whole point.

When your city is carved up by three rivers and a maze of hills and hollows, you either build bridges or you stay strangers. Pittsburgh chose to build.

The yellow ones

They're painted "Aztec Gold" for a reason — the same gold that runs through the city's teams and its identity. The Three Sisters downtown are the most famous, but every neighborhood has its own.

To cross them every day is to forget how remarkable they are. To stop and look is to remember.
